Obsidian
Obsidian is a volcanic glass that has a vitreous luster and is homogeneous in texture. It is commonly black, but cut sections of the glass sometimes appear to be green. Like other volcanic glasses, obsidian is lava that has cooled quickly, without allowing the contained minerals to crystallize. Obsidian has been used to make knives, arrowheads, spearheads, and other weapons and tools; it is also used for ornamental purposes as a gemstone. What is snowflake obsidian?
