For Pregnant Women, How Much Tuna is Too Much Tuna?

According to an article in Consumer Reports, pregnant women should not eat canned tuna because a small percentage contains levels of methyl mercury similar to those in fish like king mackerel, which the FDA recommends pregnant women never eat. Regarding canned tuna, the FDA advises that women who are pregnant eat no more than 12 ounces a week, saying that mercury levels in the fish vary and their recommendation takes averages into account.
