Graham was publisher of the Washington Post from 1969-79, when the paper enjoyed great fame for its investigative role in breaking the Watergate scandal leading to Nixon's resignation. Graham was a trailblazer for women in journalism during the 20th century and won a Pulitzer Prize for her autobiography, Personal History. In 1988, she told CIA leaders, “There are some things the general public does not need to know and shouldn't.” How did she reach her position at the Post?
