McCartney is a singer and songwriter who, together with John Lennon, founded the Beatles. The group defined a musical genre and helped jump-start a cultural revolution among young people in the 1960s. McCartney is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the most successful composer in popular music history. He is credited with a record twenty-nine US number one singles.
