The Animated Cartoon
An animated cartoon is a moving picture generated by photographing a series of drawings, objects, or computer graphics frame-by frame, and recording very slight, continuous changes in the images that then simulate motion. The first examples of attempts to capture motion in a drawing can be seen in Paleolithic cave paintings, where animals are depicted with multiple, superimposed sets of legs. How did the advent of film technology affect the field of cartoon animation?
