Queen Victoria Ascends British Throne

Queen Victoria ruled for more than 63 years, longer than any other British monarch. In addition to being Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, she was also the first monarch to use the title Empress of India. Victoria's reign was marked by a great expansion of the British Empire and by significant social, economic, and technological changes in the UK. Some dubbed her the “Famine Queen,” however, for her handling of the Irish potato famine. What did she do during the famine?
