Is Getting Fired Bad for Your Health?

According to a new study published in the journal Occupational and Environmental Medicine, being fired from a job could be fatal — especially for people who are middle-aged. Researchers, using a sample of 4,301 people aged between 51 and 61, found that the incidence of heart attack and stroke among those who had lost their jobs was more than double that in those still working.
