Drinking in Early Teens Increases Alcoholism Risk
Filed under: add to del.icio.us
According to a new study, people who begin drinking alcohol before the age of 14 are more likely to become alcoholics than those who don't start drinking until they're 21. Early drinkers also develop dependence on alcohol faster and face a longer struggle with alcohol throughout their lives. The findings are based on the results of a 2001-2002 survey of 43,093 adults conducted by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism.
