Tivoli Gardens
Tivoli Gardens is a famous amusement park that opened in Copenhagen, Denmark, in 1843, making it the second oldest amusement park that has survived intact to the present day; the oldest is in a neighboring town also in Denmark. From the beginning, the park's attractions included standards such as the merry-go-round, the scenic railway, and exotically styled buildings. How did Tivoli's founder, Georg Carstensen, persuade King Christian VIII to grant him a charter to create Tivoli?
