Do the Poor Age Faster?
British Researchers found that people with lower socio-economic status appear to age faster. The researchers showed that poor people have shorter telomeres, the caps that prevent chromosomes from fraying, which makes them biologically older than people of the same age in higher social groups. The shortness of the telomeres in a cell indicates the number of times the cell has divided and is associated with aging.
