Rossini was an Italian musical composer who wrote more than 30 operas as well as sacred music and chamber music. He was a master of the opera buffa, an Italian comic opera of the 18th century, and in 1816, he wrote his masterpiece, The Barber of Seville, which resounds with his brilliant arias, ensemble numbers, and famous crescendos. The finale of the overture of which one of Rossini's operas served as the theme song for the American show The Lone Ranger?
