Children with Lactose Intolerance Still Need Dairy’s Nutrients

A new study says lactose intolerant children should still ingest as much dairy as possible in order to obtain enough calcium, vitamin D, protein, and other essential nutrients. The report warns that lactose intolerance should not require total avoidance of dairy; foods that are often well tolerated include hard cheeses, yogurt, and lactose-free milk.
