DEFINITION: (noun) A person who argues in defense or justification of something, such as a doctrine, policy, or institution. SYNONYMS: vindicator, justifier. USAGE: English youth have been so educated time out of mind, and we have hundreds of thousands of apologists and admirers of injustice, misery, and brutality, as perpetrated among children.

Gunpei Yokoi

Yokoi was one of the most important figures in the history of the Nintendo video game company. While employed there, Yokoi designed the Game Boy handheld game console and improved the D-Pad, the cross-shaped multi-directional input device found on most modern control pads. He also helped produce many popular arcade games, including the original Mario Bros. and Donkey Kong. Anna Lindh, Swedish Politician, Stabbed

Scientists believe the development of these hermaphrodite fish is linked to estrogen-like chemicals in the water. The water authority, which draws from the Potomac and Occoquan rivers to provide service to about 1.5 million people, is working with the US Geological Survey and other agencies to eliminate potentially harmful compounds.
