A team at the Korea National University of Education in Cheongju discovered 100 fossilized webbed footprints of birds on Changseon Island, 270 kilometers (162 miles) south of Seoul. The prints are believed to be 110 million years old, having been made during the Cretaceous period of the Mesozoic Era. At present, Haenam County, 180 kilometers west of the island, boasts the world's oldest fossilized webbed bird prints, from 94 million years ago.
