A Vitamin to Treat MS?
A new study suggests that nicotinamide, a form of vitamin B3, may help people suffering from multiple sclerosis. The study, which was conducted on mice with a disease similar to MS, showed that the vitamin not only protected the nerve fibers of the mice from degeneration and loss of fatty insulating tissues, but also slowed down the process of nerve fiber damage. MS is a chronic degenerative disease of the central nervous system.
