Can This Drug Restore Your Sight?

According to new research, a drug that prevents sight loss could also help people regain some vision. Lucentis (ranibizumab ) is used to treat wet age-related macular degeneration (wet AMD), a disorder that results in new blood vessels growing behind the retina, which causes bleeding and scarring. A study published in the New England Journal of Medicine found that the drug can prevent vision loss in around nine out of 10 patients. The French, however, developed the machine further, and France became the first nation to use it as a standard execution method. On April 25, 1792, highwayman Nicolas J. Pelletier became the first person executed by guillotine. Where does the device get its name?
