North Korea Nuclear Test Condemned

North Korea announced Monday that it had detonated a nuclear bomb under a mountain in north-eastern Hamgyong province, drawing worldwide condemnation. The US, Japan, China, and Britain urged action by the UN Security Council in response to the reported test, which fell one day after the anniversary of Kim Jong-il's accession to power nine years ago.
