Aretha Franklin is an iconic American gospel singer. Known as the "Queen of Soul," she recorded such hits as "Respect," "Chain of Fools," and "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman." She has won 18 competitive Grammy Awards, including an unprecedented 11 for Best female R&B vocal performance, and on January 3, 1987, she became the first woman to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
