Red Wine May Counteract Obesity-Related Illnesses
Filed under: add to del.icio.us
A new study found that resveratrol, a molecule found in red wine, enabled obese mice to live longer than other overweight rodents and also reduced the negative health effects of eating a high-calorie diet. In the study, which was conducted by the Harvard Medical School and the National Institute on Aging, researchers fed mice a high fat diet and gave them high doses of resveratrol. Though they gained weight, the mice lived long and healthy lives.
