Red Meat Linked to Breast Cancer Risk

A study of pre-menopausal women found that those who ate more than 1½ servings of red meat a day were 97% more likely to have a hormone receptor positive breast cancer than those who ate 3 or fewer servings a week. Reasons for this may include the treatment of American beef cattle with hormones, carcinogens created when meat is cooked at high temperatures, and the presence of a certain form of iron in meat.
