Merlin
In Arthurian legend, Merlin is the magician, seer, and teacher at the court of King Vortigern and later at the court of King Arthur. He was a bard and culture hero in early Celtic folklore, and his legend is related in Vita Merlini by the 12th-century chronicler Geoffrey of Monmouth. Geoffrey combined existing stories of what two characters to form the figure he called "Merlin Ambrosius"?
