Italian scientists have developed a new diet pill that expands in the stomach, causing a feeling of fullness. They stumbled upon the discovery while attempting to develop more absorbent diaper linings. When swallowed with 2 glasses of water, this small, powdery, hydrogel pill expands in the stomach to a jelly-like ball. Its swelling fills the stomach, reducing the space available for food.
